Writing a Book is Simple but Not Easy: My Progress

Not long ago I decided to accept the challenge, and encouraging recommendations, of my family and friends to write a book for my family.  The purpose was to leave something of value and benefit behind for my children; as well as allowing my grandchildren a chance to learn about who and what kind of person I was, while learning about life from my perspective.

I was not excited about the process, as I expected it to unfold and having serious flashbacks to writing my college thesis.  I hated the steps, the process, the scrutiny, but the final result was exciting and well written.  How quickly I learned none of those fears and anxiety were relevant to writing a nonfiction, self-help book involving the mind-body-spirit and hoping to be inspirational in the end.

I am about 94 percent finished with the book as of this date, expecting only to make some additional edits and prepare it for submission to my publisher by the end of July.  If the submissions of the book cover and interior are accepted, it will be another six weeks in process before placed into the distribution system.  This system includes Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, any online, brick and mortar store and the library system.  The Kindle may take a few more weeks before appearing as a selection.

Just for fun, the publisher has provided a webpage allowing a downloadable file in Word .docx, of a short excerpt from the book, for public access.  The advantage of the document download is it allows people to see the formatting of italics, bold, and organization of the pages versus straight Notebook style text.  After the excerpt there are five short questions that may be answered anonymously, the answers will be very helpful to me prior to publishing.

For your amusement, to satisfy your curiosity, and to provide a glimpse of the direction of this book; I present you with a link to the Publisher's Preview of the book, Evaluate, Adapt, And Overcome:  Accept No Limits In Life https://www.createspace.com/Preview/1084988

I hope you at least have a little fun, possibly learn something new, and peaks your interest enough to read the entire book when it comes out.  Enjoy the excerpt.
